Since the inception of the company in 1961, IMPROCHEM established a strong market base and representation in Southern Africa.
More recently, in line with AECI’s strategy for expansion of its Water and ProcessStrategic Pillar in Africa, IMPROCHEM acquired the Water & Process Technologies business of SUEZ in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2012. Shortly thereafter, IMPROCHEM acquired Clariant’s Business Line Water Treatment (Clariant BLWT). These acquisitions provided strong regional representation and technology that was complementary to ImproChem’s existing resources and resulted in IMPROCHEM’s geographical footprint expanding to include the entire Sub-Saharan Africa region.
In addition to these acquisitions, IMPROCHEM has formal Distribution Agreements with a number of companies in Sub-Saharan Africa to support IMPROCHEM’s in-country presence and to expand local capabilities. These synergies will be further enhanced through investment in plant and resources to ensure ongoing commitment to localisation targets and improving service delivery to our customers.
